The free two day event is now in its second year and proved to be a huge success last summer. It takes place on the Stade, opposite Winkle Island and will see local restaurants and producers showcasing their best fish dishes and local products. There is a full and varied programme of live music over the two days and local brewery the FILO will be hosting a mini beer festival. Live music lined up for the event includes performances by the Hastings Sinfonia orchestra; Soul X Press (Soul and Motown) and Eastbourne five piece Zachary Dogwood (alternative rock). Also playing is Andy Neate and Nana Tsiboe where Spanish guitar meets African percussion. There will be an exhibition by local artist Letitia Yhap in the Stade Hall. Visitors will be able to attend cookery demonstrations in the Classroom on the Coast while there are craft activities for young people run by craft activities run by Radiator Arts, Hastings Pier, Hastings Museum and The Fishermen’s Protection Society. The festival also launches the council’s summer Stade Saturdays programme, visitors will be entertained on the Saturday night by Coco and the Butterfields, an energetic, crowd stomping band with a folk twist who have graced the stages of Glastonbury. The festival runs from 11am – 8pm on Saturday and 11am – 5pm on Sunday.
