Aha! We're now into '˜Flaming June'...!: Apparently, there was a rumour going around locally that the forecasters were promising the hottest June for over a hundred years...ok, let's hope there's at least an element of accuracy in that, especially after Bank Holiday Monday's clouds and wind, and yes, alright I know, it could have been a lot worse! But it seems to be the same every time; fabulous sunny days, over the days BEFORE the holiday, and then drear and dreich on the day itself! Now is the time to really practice your best '˜Sun Dance', as this week sees the build up to the Queen's official Birthday Celebrations next weekend. The complete table of fun-filled events for Ninfield is listed at the end of this column, please make a note in your diaries and see what takes your fancy!...so, on that note let's first....

Clean for the Queen!: This Saturday, 4th June, from 10am, meeting at the Methodist Hall, Church Lane. Huge thanks are due to the Village Society, for leading this initiative, with the Parish Council supplying the necessary pickers, gloves and bags, and refreshments afterwards! It’s a Village wide litter pick, with the intention to really clear up as much as possible, and everyone is welcome to join the teams, the more the merrier!

Ninfield Flower Group: On Monday, 6th June, commencing at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall, the Flower Group will welcome Hazel McGregor with her demonstration entitled “Floral Fusion”. Non members are always welcome, there is a small charge of £4 for entry, but that also includes all refreshments. All the flowers used in the demonstrations are raffled at the end of the evening, so there is no waste, just an added bonus to win! All profits go to the Shows and Displays throughout the year, and to the group’s chosen charities. Call Jennifer on 892878 or email [email protected] for more information.
