Selsey Coastguard responded to a call after two girls got stuck in the mud at West Wittering yesterday.
Two members of the Coastguard Mud Rescue Team made their way out to the young girls following a shout at 6.40pm.
Dressed in full mud rescue suits and with mud rescue equipment, the crew members were able to extract the girls from the mud and the rest of the team winched them back to safety.
