Bexhill Association of National Trust Members
The president, Arland Kingston, opened the meeting welcoming members.
The chairman, Hans Heetveld, presented his report reviewing the past year of the association, followed by a written account by the secretary, Sue Ainscough, of the varied activities enjoyed by the members throughout the year.

Hide AdThe retiring treasurer, Janetta Looker, presented her financial report outlining a successful year of support for the various National Trust properties in the region.
The election of officers then took place and the following were re-confirmed: Arland Kingston (president), Hans Heetveld (chairman) and Susan Ainscough (secretary). Graham Looker (vice chairman), Janetta Looker (treasurer) were retiring because of moving away from Bexhilll and the posts were now vacant.
Sonia Vincett offered herself for membership secretary and was voted in.
Committee members were re-elected: Yvonne Cracknell (lectures), Joyce Henderson (crafts), Colin Hill (publicity), Joan Knights (outings).

Hide AdAudrey Burgess (catering) had been co-opted on the outgoing committee and was elected to the new one.
Under the item for any other business, the chairman made a strong plea for the vacancies of vice-chairman and treasurer. He emphasised that the long-term future of the association looked uncertain without these officers.
After the business agenda of the meeting, Simon Lee, the property manager of Nymans and Wakehurst, gave a most interesting talk on developments at Nymans.
The next meeting is on Saturday, December 6, at St Peter's Community Centre, starting at 3.45pm when, after popular demand, Joyce Lewis and Derrick Hughes will play the traditional music of Britain and Ireland on unusual instruments.
Visitors will be most welcome for an entrance fee of 3.
