Eastbourne school delighted about support for children’s reading challenge
Willingdon School has organised the Willingdon 2,000 book challenge after recently beating its target of reading more than 1,000 books during term five.
Headteacher Emily Beer said, “Reading for pleasure is not just fun and enjoyable but it supports our mental health and helps de-stress and unwind from the current difficulties we are facing.

Hide Ad“We have also seen the correlation between students who read lots and subsequent higher outcomes at GCSE.
“We are absolutely delighted so many famous authors gave up their time to support our initiative. We know it will have excited and pleased our children to have this encouragement.”
