The town's MP joined members of the community at the New Inn in Sidley on Friday (October 26) to press the new owners to commit to the pub's future.

Earlier this year, Star Pubs & Bars, the pub business of Heineken UK, bought the pub, one of 1,900 it purchased from Punch Taverns.

Residents have been concerned about the future of the pub, which has been beset with problems over the past two years including a badger sett in its garden and serious structural issues.
