Burwash
Tonight is open mike noght at the Pavilion in Burwash Common. Local mucicians and singers are invited to go along and join in, giving the audience the pleasure of your music. No need to be shy or to book, just go along and make yourself known. Visitors are welcome to go along for a pleasnat evening listening to the local talented entertainers. THe licenced bar will be open.
Have you got your ticket for tomorrow’s Magician show. Bertie Pearce, a member of the prestigious magic circle, will be performing his tricks for all ages in the Burwash village hall from 3.30pm. Refreshments and cakes will be available during the interval. People who have already had the priveledge of seeing Bertie perform say how impressive he is. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children and are available from Shirley Viney on 01435 882497 or by email [email protected] Proceeds will be split between the Burwash village hall and the playing fields association.

Hide AdThe weekend is a busy one for our villages. On Sunday the Burwash Cricket club and the burwash football club are having a fun day when they will have a a friendly cricket and football match. It is being held in the Swan Meadow playing field, Ham Lane. There will be a bouncy castle, barbeque and drinks. You are all invited to go along and jooin the fun and support the teams. Good luck to both clubs
Also on Sunday St Philip’s church invite you to a celebration of Summer fruits and fizz. The fun begins at 11.45amand you are all welcome to go along. Please take along summer fruits, cakes, jellies & jams you have made. The proceeds will go to Tree of Hope, a very worthy children’s charity.
Last week the children of Burwash Church of England school held their annual sports day. The weather was really bright and sunny, very warm at times but all the children had a great afternoon. The races began with the children who are about to leave for higher schools running for the Edward Workman cup (Boys) and the Hazel Taylor cup (girls), these were presented to the winners by Barry Taylor. Other races were fun races including the Angel race, water/spoon race and more, The adults also had to race much to the pleasure of the children. Well done to everyone who took part and/or organised the event.
The next monthly lunch club for the Age UK burwash branch will take place on Monday at noon in the Bear. Anyone over the age of 55 is welcome to go along and join them. THe Playing fields committee are looking for volunteers to help set up the field in the morning, man stalls during the afternoon and dismantle everything in the evening. If you have some spare time and woulld be willing to help, please let Steve or Eddie know.
