Businesses step in to save popular firework display
Generous businesses and organisations have rallied behind Worthing Lions’ firework display, which is set to take place at Bartie Presents’s Tide of Light event on November 5, in a bid to save the night.
The charity had struggled to secure all of the funds needed to cover the firework display, casting doubt on whether or not it would actually happen.

Marian Down, Worthing Lion’s PR representative, said: “This is the third year it’s happened and it’s become such an enormous event that’s given so much pleasure to so many people.
“The prom is heaving – you can’t move. The cafés and pubs all benefit. It’s just a win win situation and we are so very grateful to the Town Centre Initiative, Bill Cole, Muldoons and W Welch’s that it’s going ahead.”
The Tide of Light attracts thousands to the town every year and provides a welcome boost to the local economy.

Meanwhile, Wes Welch, director of W Welch, said: “It is such a wonderful, memorable award-winning event for the whole family raising important funds for Worthing Lions and much needed funds for local causes and as a local business it means a lot to help this event go ahead and be part of such an amazing evening.”
