Family celebrates successful showing at Crufts
The Hempstead family has been competing in the Crufts show for 35 years with their Cuvana Irish Water Spaniels.
Sue Hempstead, Judy Hempstead and Judy’s son Oscar all took part in this year’s show and won a number of prizes.

Hide AdEider, Judy’s 14 month old was awarded first place in an Any Variety Sporting Spaniel bitch class competing against 15 dogs in total, and presented with a beautiful trophy.
Eider also secured third place in her breed junior class.
Oscar aged 13, who goes to school at Oathall Community College, and handles Quill, competed in the Any Variety working Spaniel, went up against 25 dogs and was awarded second place.
Quill handled by Judy was then awarded first in his breed working Gundog class.
Oscar and Eider also went on to junior handling for 14 years and under. They were awarded fourth in class, out of 13 children

Hide AdSue Hempstead with her young dog Malachi won two first prizes in his breed class and then, as a team, the family entered the BASC Regional Working Gundog Competition and were awarded second place out of 12 teams.
Judy who works for Arden Grange Boarding Kennels as a kennel administrator in Albourne said: “This was a fabulous day. We have worked hard preparing the dogs for this event and it certainly paid off.”
