Peasmarsh

Thank you: Some of you more observant types (unlike me) might have noticed that the Peasmarsh Village Voice has been very quiet indeed for the past few weeks. This is because Mary has hung up the reins after a grand total of fourteen years of keeping us all up to date with news and events relating to the village. I think she deserves a massive thank you for providing this information on time for, shall we say, 728 weeks, give or take a few. That's no small achievement, meeting the Tuesday morning deadline every week for all that time. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, MARY. Well, I am going to take up the reins, but I'm not promising the same slick service or endurance. In the meantime, if you have any news or events you want to publicise you can email them through to me on [email protected] and I will endeavour to get them into print for you on time. I'm giving you a Monday afternoon deadline (for Friday publication) to try to avoid any disappointment. I'm sure you join me in thanking Mary and sending a 'virtual' bouquet of flowers (or would she prefer a bottle of vino?) for service to our village and loads of humorous stories too. Give that keyboard a rest now Mary.

Peasmarsh Burglary: Main Street, 29th January 2016. What can I say about recent events apart from please be careful with your own property, don’t leave any expensive items on show, and be observant about who is lurking in the village on foot or slowly driving around. Why not have a look at the Sussex Police website for the efit released on 3rd February. Just put “Peasmarsh efit” into the search box and it will show up, plus a description and a description of a vehicle possibly connected. Also on there is how to report any information, summarised here - Anyone with any information is urged to contact police on [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 324 of 29/01.

Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).
