Brighton culinary student wins bronze in global cooking competition
Beth Collings flew to Delhi, India for the 6th annual Young Chef Olympiad and reached the final on Sunday (February 2).
She competed against 59 other young chefs from around the globe and won a bronze medal for her culinary skills.

Hide AdAlthough she commutes daily from Brighton to Westminster Kingsway College to study for her Professional Chef Diploma, Beth had never travelled to India and was cooking in an unfamiliar environment.
Lecturer Chris Basten helped Beth to prepare for the challenge. He said: “I’m immensely proud of Beth for all her hard work and dedication, as well as her skill as a chef.”
One of just ten competitors to reach the finals, Beth’s skills were closely watched by a panel of expert judges including Professor David Foskett MBE, Anton Edelmann, who was maître chef de cuisines at The Savoy for over 20 years, and top UK chefs Brian Turner and Chris Galvin.
