The LibDem election hopeful for Hastings and Rye met up with his leader at a party fundraiser last week.
Nick Perry, who hopes to knock current Hastings MP Michael Foster of his perch the next time the time the voters go to the polls, was rubbing shoulders with his namesake Nick Clegg in Eastbourne last week.

Mr Clegg was in town, among other things, to teach a Spanish lesson to local children.

LibDem candidates from across East Sussex were able to meet with their leader and elections guru Lord Rennard over a fundraising dinner in the evening.

Mr Perry said: "This was the first time I have met Nick Clegg in person and I was really impressed with his down-to-earth, informal style.
"He and Vince Cable are doing a great job for our party at a national level.

"This was a real boon of a visit for local parliamentary candidates, and it was good to update the leadership on how the land lies in our respective areas."

Do you think Nick Perry has a chance of beating Michael Foster at the next election? Or will Amber Rudd end up as Hastings and Rye MP? Leave your comments below:
