FOOTBALL: New Rebel Groves aiming for promotion
Groves, who played a couple of pre-season games with Rebels, was unable to pledge his future to the club owing to work commitments in the summer and returned to play for County League Division 1 side Shoreham, but he has now set his sights on helping Worthing gain promotion.
With a change in his work situation, the left-back is back with Rebels and could solve the long-running problem position for Worthing.

Hide AdOut-of-position Charlie Farmer has been installed there for the majority of the season, and has done a sterling job, helping the Rebels to 10 clean sheets from his 20 games, but it is not his favoured position.
Groves has fitted into the squad well and said: "I already had a lot of friends here, and everyone welcomed me well at training, so it's all good. Personally, I'm just aiming to do as well as I can for the side and help them to push for promotion.
"I know they weren't expected to do anywhere near as well as they have this year. They came under a bit of criticism at the start of the season after two defeats but responded well and turned it around.
Hopefully, we'll now push on."
Ryman League will be a step up to the highest level that Groves has played so far, but Rebels boss Simon Colbran seems to be confident in him after a pursued interest.

Hide AdGroves added: "In pre-season, I wanted to sign but as I work up in London I didn't think I could play every weekend or some Tuesdays, but things have changed now.
"It was great to know that Simon still wanted me to play here. I felt, being given the opportunity, it was time to move up, as everyone always wants to play as high as they can.
"Shoreham have been great to me and they've said if things don't work out, I'm always welcome back there.
"I hope to bring some more stability and a natural left foot at the back. I know Charlie has been playing at left-back and done an excellent job, so there'll be competition for the place, which is always good."
